What is ShopAir?

ShopAir is a shared shopping list app for households, available on iPhone and Android. Several people keep one list between them: anyone with permission adds items from their own phone, and the change appears on everybody else's phone as it happens, without anyone pressing send. ShopAir also stores loyalty cards as barcodes and QR codes, in the same app.

Can two people edit the same shopping list at the same time?

Yes. A ShopAir list is shared rather than copied, so two people can add and tick off items simultaneously and both phones stay in step. If someone ticks off an item while you are looking at the list, you see it tick off.

Do the people I invite need to pay for ShopAir?

No. Somebody you invite to a list can add items and tick them off without a ShopAir subscription of their own. A subscription is needed to create your own lists, add your own loyalty cards, and invite other people.

How do I share a shopping list with my partner or family?

Open the list in ShopAir, tap Invite, and send the link through any messaging app, show the QR code, or enter their email address if they already use ShopAir. When they open the invitation they join the list, and you choose whether they can edit it or only view it.

Can I control who is allowed to change my list?

Yes. Every member of a ShopAir list has one of two permissions: can edit, or view only. The person who created the list sets the permission when inviting somebody, and can change it or remove that person at any time.

Does ShopAir work without an internet connection?

Yes. ShopAir keeps working with no signal, which is what a supermarket basement usually offers. Items you add or tick off while offline are held on the phone and sent as soon as the connection returns, and the app tells you it is offline rather than silently dropping the change.

Is ShopAir available on Android as well as iPhone?

Yes. ShopAir is on both the App Store and Google Play, and the two versions share the same lists. The home screen widget is currently iPhone only.

How much does ShopAir cost?

ShopAir is a subscription, offered monthly or annually, and the annual plan starts with a three day free trial. The exact price is set by the App Store and Google Play in your own currency and is shown before you confirm anything.

Can I keep my loyalty cards in ShopAir?

Yes. ShopAir stores loyalty cards as barcodes or QR codes, added by scanning the plastic card with the camera or typing the number. Cards open full screen at the checkout, and you can share a card with the people already on your lists.

Which shops does ShopAir know about?

ShopAir ships with 136 store chains, including Tesco, Lidl, Aldi, Asda, Auchan, E.Leclerc, Walmart, Target and Costco, almost all of them with their logo and colour. Any shop that is not in the list can be added by hand, with your own image as its icon.

Can I use ShopAir without creating an account?

Yes, but with a real limit. ShopAir lets you start without an account, and the lists then stay on that one phone: they cannot be shared with anyone, they do not appear on your other devices, and deleting the app deletes them permanently. Sharing requires an account, because that is what other people join.

What languages does ShopAir support?

ShopAir is fully translated into English and French, including the item suggestions and every screen in the app. Shop names stay as the brand writes them.

Can I see who added or ticked off an item?

Yes. Opening an item in ShopAir shows who added it and when, and who ticked it off. Each shared list also keeps an activity log covering items added, items ticked off, people joining and permissions changing.

How do I delete my ShopAir account and everything in it?

Deleting your account from Settings inside ShopAir permanently removes your account, the lists you own and your loyalty cards. Lists that other people shared with you are not yours to delete, so they stay with their owner.

Does ShopAir show advertising or sell my data?

No. ShopAir carries no advertising and does not sell personal data. The subscription is what pays for it, which is why nothing else has to.
