Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of ShopAir, a mobile app for building and sharing shopping lists and storing loyalty cards. By creating an account you agree to what follows. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
What ShopAir does
ShopAir lets you:
- Create shopping lists, optionally tied to a particular store.
- Add items to a list, tick them off, and see progress.
- Invite other people to a list by email, by a share link or by a QR code, so that everyone sees changes as they happen.
- Store loyalty card numbers and barcodes, and share a card with someone else.
- See a log of recent activity on the lists you belong to.
Your account
You need an account to use ShopAir. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything done through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has gained access to it.
You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, and at least 13 years old. Please provide accurate information when you sign up, and keep your display name and email current.
Shared lists and what other people can see
ShopAir is built for sharing, so it is worth being explicit about this. When you join or are invited to a list, the other members of that list can see:
- Your display name and the email address on your account.
- The items you add, edit or tick off, and when you did so, through the activity log.
Anyone holding a list's share link can join that list. Treat those links as you would the list itself, and only send them to people you actually want on the list.
Loyalty cards
Please do not store payment cards in ShopAir. The card feature is intended for store loyalty and membership numbers only. It is not built to hold credit or debit card details, and you should not enter them.
When you share a loyalty card with someone, they receive a copy of the card details you entered. You cannot un-share a copy that has already been accepted.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use ShopAir to harass anyone, or to send unwanted invitations in bulk.
- Upload content that is unlawful, or that infringes someone else's rights.
- Attempt to access accounts, lists or data that are not yours, or probe or disrupt the service.
- Reverse engineer the app, or use automated means to scrape it, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, or where we are required to do so by law.
Your content
Your lists, items and cards remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service: to store your content, and to display it to you and to the people you have shared it with. We do not sell your content and we do not use it for advertising.
Ending your use of ShopAir
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account in the app. Doing so permanently removes your account, the lists you own and your loyalty cards. Lists that other people own, and that were merely shared with you, remain with their owner; you are simply removed as a member. Deletion cannot be undone.
Availability and liability
ShopAir is provided as-is. We work to keep it running and accurate, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost. Please do not rely on it as the sole record of anything important to you.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep the statutory rights granted by the law where you live.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app changes. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use ShopAir after a change means you accept the revised terms.
